The Fashion - s/t EP

The Fashion - s/t EP
I saw this group of Swedes open up for Alkaline Trio a few summers ago. They kinda have a new-wave/post punk feel going on. Despite the fact that the crowd was obviously there for Alkaline Trio and Bayside, these guys won a bunch of people over.

Chamberlain - Fate's Got a Driver

Chamberlain - Fate's Got a Driver
You should know the deal with this indie favorite by now. I think they're playing again, which has a lot of people very excited.

The Exploding Hearts - Guitar Romantic

The Exploding Hearts - Guitar Romantic
This band was on it's way to being one of the biggest indie/punk bands of the 2000s when three of the members were killed in a van accident. Terrible tragedy. Give it a listen and realize why even Pitchfork liked this band.

Comadre - A Wolf Ticket

Comadre - A Wolf Ticket
The latest band I've completely fallen in love with. Chaotic and spastic, but with the ability to change rhythms, tempos and really whole songs on a dime. Their song on that Kid Dynamite tribute was one of the few that didn't suck. Support this band. Hard. They deserve it.

Crows - Dirty Bunny

Crows - Durty Bunny
Chris from HWM as well as some dudes from As Friends Rust and Radon put out a punk rock record years ago that got lost in the shuffle of all their full-time bands. Bummer they had to change their name from the Sheryl Crow-Mags.

The Promise Ring - Boys and Girls

The Promise Ring - Boys and Girls
"Tell Everyone That We're Dead" and "Best Looking Boys" are two of my favorites from this dearly missed emo pop band.

Penfold - Amateurs and Professionals

Penfold - Amateurs and Professionals
Awesome quiet/loud indie or emo or whatever from New Jersey. I've previously upped their other LP, so you should download both.

Banner image?

Would anyone with any graphic design ability be interested in putting together a banner image for Viva Pizza? Or, would anyone be interested in helping with some "design" guidance on the blog as a whole?

The Exit - Home For An Island (reissue)

The Exit - Home for an Island (reissue)
This was actually the second version of this record to come out. They weren't happy with the first version, so they retracked a lot of it and resequenced the record. Super talented, catchy indie rock with a great rhythm section.

Flipper - Sex Bomb Baby

Flipper - Sex Bomb Baby
A collection of early stuff (pre-'82) from these noisy punks.

Coldbringer - Lust and Ambition

Coldbringer - Lust and Ambition
Leatherface-ish punk from guys in From Ashes Rise and others. I've never seen anything else from them, but I'd like to.

Cloak/Dagger - Untitled 7"

Cloak Dagger - Untitled 7"
A fairly recent 7" from these RVA punks. "Surf song" is possibly my favorite song of theirs.

Fallen From the Sky - Ring The Alarm (Beyonce cover)

Fallen From The Sky - Ring the Alarm (Beyonce cover)
A few years ago these guys were on some MTV contest where all the bands had to do a pop cover. I think they get tired of people calling it out when they play live, but it's still fun as hell.

Fairweather - Lusitania

Fairweather - Lusitania
It sorta got less cool to like Fairweather as they went on, but I can't help but think they got better as they went on. This was the last record, and it's arguably my favorite.

Choking Victim - No Gods / No Managers

Choking Victim - No Gods / No Managers
You loved this record when you were 15, and to be honest, it still kinda has cool moments. Sure, their fans are shitty kids that live with their parents but act like gutter punks, but whatever.

Chinese Telephones - Democracy

Chinese Telephones - Democracy
A collection of vinyl only releases from 2004-2008 for this pop punk band. I think they're playing again, but I'm not sure.

The Dopamines - s/t

The Dopamines - s/t
I'll be honest: I never really got into this record. They never grabbed me as much as the other pop punk bands in that big resurgence a few years ago. However, their new LP is KILLLLER, so I have to go back and give this another shot.

Count Me Out - Permanent

Count Me Out - Permanent
This is one of those bands that I wish I'd gotten into earlier, back when I was passing up hardcore bands and really only listening to punk and indie rock. Stupid me.

Carpenter - Town and Country EP

Carpenter - Town and Country EP
A little less "big" and anthemic than their LP that I loved. They haven't put anything out in a while, but I can't wait to hear what they do next.

Canadian Rifle - Visibility Zero

Canadian Rifle - Visibility Zero
Incredibly gruff and scratchy punk rock ala Leatherface. Al Burian spent some time in this band, but then, as sort of expected, left.

Only Crime - To the Nines

Only Crime - To the Nines
Members of Good Riddance and Bane playing SoCal skate punk that you'd kinda expect from a band with that pedigree.

Horrow Show - The Holiday

Horror Show - The Holiday
The last four songs that this Philly band put out. With them reuniting for This is Hardcore this summer, it's time to brush off your records or mp3s and get ready for stage dives and mosh parts.

The Bomb - Speed is Everything

The Bomb - Speed is Everything
This was one of the most underrated records of last year. Jeff from Naked Raygun fronting a melodic band, with a bit of a colder, post-hardcore feel at times. Great guest vocal spots from Bob Nanna and Yemin.

As Friends Rust - s/t

As Friends Rust - s/t EP
Gruff but melodic hardcore from Gainesville, Fl. This is one of the earlier EPs before they got a little bit weirder and pissed off a lot of their fans. Damian from Morning Again sings on this, but it's way different from MA.
