Hot Water Music - Live at the Hardback

Hot Water Music - Live at the Hardback
My favorite live album. Enough said.

Off With Their Heads - All Is Not Well

Off With Their Heads - All Is Not Well
The first collection from this bitter pop punk band. This includes most of their early stuff as well as Hospitals. It's nice to have a lot of this in one spot.

Orange Island - s/t

Orange Island - s/t
Heavy, noisy indie rock. This band used to play with Breaking Pangaea and Kill Verona all the time (even sharing members with KV later on), and I heard that they recently played a reunion show. If anyone has any of the other records, please let me know! Despite seeing them a lot, this is the only one I ever had.

Peter Toh - Shoes of a Beast

Peter Toh - Shoes of a Beast
The main songwriter (and singer on the second LP) of the Stryder, Peter Toh put out his first solo record a few years ago. There are a few awkward moments on here, but overall it's pretty good. Much more relaxed and varied musically than the Stryder.

Public Enemy - It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back

Public Enemy - It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back
Probably my second favorite hip hop LP of all time, behind Wu-Tang. Chuck D is a great dude, and Flavor Flav was hilarious before he went (totally) off the deep end into caricature.

Bob Nanna - Two Live Sets

Bob Nanna - Two Live Sets
This is a combination of two short live sets (Detroit in 2001 and Wyanndotte in 2003). I wish it was one, since some of my favorite tracks are spread across both of them, but it's not. Oh well. His cover of "Secret Santa Cruz" blows the original out of the water, but maybe that's because I hate LftrPllr or however the fuck it's spelled.

Blueline Medic - The Apology Wars

Blueline Medic - The Apology Wars
Australian Jawbreaker inspired melodic punk rock. They put out a bunch of other records, including a split with Ted Leo, but this was the first LP they did.

Potboiler - Izzy Alcantara

Potboiler - Izzy Alcantara
About two years ago I went to see Ringers at a shitty bar in South Philly, only to find out they canceled. I stuck around anyway to see a friend's band, and figured I'd stick around to watch the band who replaced Ringers. Potboiler impressed me with their scratchy pop punk. They put this out on Salinas and another on Art of the Underground before calling it quits too soon.

The Mountain Goats - The Sunset Tree

The Mountain Goats - The Sunset Tree
John Darnielle spins an album about a drunken, abusive stepfather, and how it affected his growing up. It borders on singer/songwriter, but also stretches out at times. While the recent Satanic Messiah EP rivals it at times, this stands as my favorite record of theirs.

Spanish Bombs - s/t

Spanish Bombs - s/t
Fusing equal parts punk, hardcore, and some Dischord emo, this band was impressive, but short lived (although they may be playing together again, I'm not 100%).

Hot Water Music - Never Ender (with bonus disc)

Hot Water Music - Never Ender
This is their first b-sides and rarities collection, that came out between No Division and A Flight and a Crash. Also included is the bonus disc, with extra demos and previously unheard material. You could only get this disc by purchasing it at shows on the tour.

Jawbreaker - Live in Ireland

Jawbreaker - Live in Belfast, Ireland 10.26.94
My hard drive holds a near Dead-head like amount of Jawbreaker live sets, but this is the one that I go back to the most. Contains most of my favorite songs, some entertaining banter, and a recording quality better than most live bootlegs.

Farside - The Monroe Doctrine

Farside - The Monroe Doctrine
90s post hardcore on Revelation Records. There are a few really weird songs on here and some throwaway tracks, but most of this record is stellar. "I Hope That You're Unhappy," "The Slowdance" and "The Seven Day Constant" are all killer. This is my favorite album of theirs.

Sarge - The Glass Intact

Sarge - The Glass Intact
Mid 90s girl fronted indie rock. You may recognize Elizabeth Elmore's voice from her solo stuff, or the Reputation, or singing on "Chillout Tent" with The Hold Steady. "Beguiling" was the first song I heard by these guys, and I love it to this day.

North Lincoln - Truth is a Menace

North Lincoln - Truth is a Menace
No Idea punk rock, so you kinda know what to expect. Similar to Jawbreaker, Small Brown Bike, etc.

Plow United - Live 7-22-97

Plow United - Live 7/22/97 (last show)
My favorite band as a young teenager, and I still love them today. Fast, scratchy pop punk. This set has songs from all of the albums.

Fuel - Monuments to Excess

Fuel - Monuments to Excess
Not the radio rock Fuel, but the Bay Area post hardcore, Dischord inspired band from the late 80s/early 90s. This is kind of a lost record, but download it, as it has all of their tracks, from the LP to random b-sides.

Fairweather - Demo

Fairweather - Demo
The first stuff from this "emo" pop punk band. Some of these songs ended up being on the first LP, but some of them were only available on this demo. It's a shame this band was written off a Saves The Day clone, because they were much better than that.

Celebrity Murders - Demp

Celebrity Murders - Demo
Thrashy hardcore punk. This is the demo that came out before the LP. I'm not sure if they're even a band, but last time I went to see them like no people came out, and I had to leave before they even got to play. Bum out.

American Football - s/t

American Football - s/t
Seems to be the most underrated Kinsella record. Not as influential as Cap'n Jazz, not as loved currently as Owen. Still a wonderfully relaxed indie rock with great guitar work.

Alkaline Trio - Acoustic in London

Alkaline Trio - Acoustic in London
This was a "Blood Pact" exclusive that they released a few years ago. Most of the "hits" and fan favorites done as an acoustic duo. Pretty fun and well done.

Power of IV - A Slight Rebellion Off Madison

Power of IV - A Slight Rebellion Off Madison
The until-recently unreleased album from this Delaware band. I've had this for years, but I don't think it was actually released until 08. Great record, but holy crap is that cover art awful. I posted the first LP yesterday and this is more of the same. High energy emo/punk rock.

New Mexican Disaster Squad - s/t

New Mexican Disaster Squad - s/t
Pretty much the same as the description below, except this is the first full length. And cover art that's not as great.

New Mexican Disaster Squad - Don't Believe

New Mexican Disaster Squad - Don't Believe
The last full length from this Florida melodic punk/hardcore band. Similar to Kid Dynamite and Strike Anywhere and bands like that. Members are now playing in Gatorface and Virgins, who both have new records out.

Fastbreak - Whenever You're Ready

Fastbreak - Whenever You're Ready
A lot of people scoff when you talk about this record cause it's not their "hardcore" stuff and it sounds more like The Movielife (despite pre-dating them). Those people are nuts though, because this record rules. Includes the overly abused "Music is my girlfriend" song.
